Our frames are designed and engineered by Aries Rhysing and Jason Tiedeken. The frames are CNC and laser cut from cold-rolled 1020 mild steel. This material allows greater flexibility in our design process, while maintaining electrical integrity and optimal magnetism. 1020 mild steel has an electrical resistivity measurement of .000015 - .00005 per cm (compared to ductile iron which has an electrical resistivity measurement of .000005 - .000012 per cm, the difference is inconsequencial) therefore requiring no yolk for our coils. We have chosen to powder coat our frames to offer a variety of innovative colors while allowing for easy cleaning and prevention of rust. Other colors and finishes will be available periodically.
All machines are built at the TALISMAN TATTOO MACHINES shop by Aries Rhysing and Adam Romero. Frame goemetry and configuration for all of our machines is tried and trued - combining the best of our favorite classic machines with our own innovations and preferences. Our coils are 8-wrap EIKON Crown standards, which are guaranteed for life. We also wrap our own coils to custom specifications upon request. Capacitors are selected based on the intended style of tattooing for each machine, which allows us to further fine-tune each configuration for that purpose. All springs are hand cut from the appropriate guage of spring steel to suit each machine. All machines are tuned and tested before leaving our shop for delivery and arrive ready to use. Talisman Tattoo Machines can be custom built to suit your preferences, specify your request and we will deliver. Every machine is guaranteed to arrive in perfect working order, no exceptions.
